VOLUNTEER FAQs

Our sale is 100% volunteer driven and we'd love to have your help!

We know volunteering can seem daunting & overwhelming if you have never volunteered with us before. Luckily, there are many types of jobs at TNT for our volunteers to do for a variety of interest levels.

What is a committee volunteer vs. a general volunteer?

Committee Volunteers commit to working at least 2 shifts at the sale. They will focus in a particular area like set up/breakdown, receiving, finance, marketing, hospitality or nursery. This is a chance to not only shop early but learn about a specific part of our sale! If you are interested in working on a committee, email rdstnt@riverchasedayschool.com

What do I wear?

You will be moving a lot! We suggestion athletic wear like leggings, shorts, t-shirt and sneakers for comfort! We will provide an apron for you to wear.

Why should I volunteer?

Many of our volunteers give their time because proceeds help support Riverchase Day School, the missions of Riverchase United Methodist Church, and The Charlie Jean Foundation. Other volunteers love the chance to spend time with friends, meet new people or spend time with parents and staff of RDS, and some love shopping the pre-sale! 

Do I sign up for a drop off time if I am a consignor and volunteer?

No, you do not need to sign up for a drop off shift. You are able to just bring your items to the volunteer consignor area and drop it off at any time during receiving. If you do not select Donate All, you will need to pick up your rejected items by Monday evening.

Do I get to shop early?

Yes! Our volunteers get to shop the pre-sale allowing them first access to the best selection. Please visit the Shopping Schedule for specific times

Do you offer meals and/or childcare for volunteers?

Yes to both! We have yummy meals and snacks the whole week for our volunteers. Childcare is currently available to those working 3+ shifts. If you need childcare, please complete the committee form & our Nursery Chair will reach out.

Where should I go when I arrive?

Enter the Church through the Welcome Center. There will be a check in desk with a helpful TNT Ambassador to answer all your questions and get you started!

How do I get more involved in TNT?

If you’re interested in a TNT Leadership role, you’ll need to work a committee for at least 1-2 sales first. Be sure to notify your chair if you would like more responsibility! Each sale we select TNT Ambassadors to serve as leaders, and from those volunteers we select chairs for open positions as needed.
